Stop The PressNew Members Day on Sunday 2nd November - a great success. In spite of a flooded course and a very drizzly day, 20 new members braved the course in a Texas scramble. What a pleasure to meet with new members and chat over an after match buffet. Rob Clarke brought home victory with Colin Chislett, Paul Longford and Tony Clarke to win the event. Sally Hollis's team with Colin McKenzie & Chris Keogh were runners up. This was a wonderful event and we think should become a firm fixture in the diary from now on. Well done to you all. |

Report from the ProfessionalWe currently have a problem with pitchmarks either not being repaired or being repaired incorrectly. If a pitchmark is repaired immediately, then the green will quickly and fully recover. If they are not repaired or are repaired poorly, then the green takes much longer to regain its condition. For a guide on how to repair a pitchmark properly please click here. Once again I would just like to thank all the members for their continued support. With the winter league starting at weekends it's very hard to know when to play, so please don't hesitate to call me and I will advise you of the best times to play. Juniors Newsletter
Following an excellent season the Junior Squad was treated to an away day at Collingtree; the Event was won by our Club Captain’s Team – Bob’s Bandits and a good time was had by all. The attached picture shows the boys and girls with Lee, who is to be thanked for the time he has spent coaching read on for full details. |
Mixed TeamA summary of the year on the Mixed Matches from Bubbles and Roy.It is always great fun, so if you want to participate next year, look out for the notices which are in the foyer near the entrance to the men's loccker room or speak to Lesley and Brian. |
Bar & HouseWe consider that our new Caterers have made an excellent start and have helped improve the ambience within the Clubhouse. Sunday lunches in particular are proving popular and members have been very complimentary on the standard of food. If you have not visited recently, why not come along. We had an excellent Quiz night in September with 90 of us sitting down to piping hot fish and chips. The 60s-70s night in October was great fun and enjoyed by all.
