To mark the end of our winter programme we held the End of Season competition, which was a Blind Pairs stableford. Blind, because the draw for partners did not take place until all the cards were in. The winners were Bill Lennie and Dave Dawkins with a combined score of 72.
The Seniors' section had a good start to the new season. In our first two matches we beat the C Team and achieved a draw against the Ladies.
We held our annual skittles evening in the clubhouse on the 24th of March.
72 people attended including wives, partners, friends and guests. A great time was had by one and all.
We were pleased to welcome our invited guests who were Club President Tim Fisher with wife Gill, Club Captain Derek Wheatley with wife Eve and Chair of House Ben Benoist with wife Liz.
Six Teams of twelve played Devil Among the Tailors, Cheeses and Long Alley skittle games. Each team played each game twice. With a Joker being played in the second round that doubled the score on a pre-selected game.
Thanks went to Les Aspinal who once again organised and set up the three skittle games.
Thanks went to Neil Wright who did an inspired job in running the games and keeping the complex scoring under much duress.
Thanks went to Charisma for providing a very enjoyable cold buffet meal.
The biggest thanks of all went to the seniors' secretary John Watts who did a magnificent job of organising the event and therefore enabling it to be such a huge success.
