Having returned from a lovely sunshine break in South Africa and having missed all the bad Winter weather, I am now ready and raring to go.
Thank you to all the lady volunteers who took on my duties whilst I was away. Thanks Sue for picking a winning team against the C Team.
Lesley Wooldridge, my Vice, is now running the Mixed Team and would be delighted to have some extra names to pick teams from. There is no commitment only that you enjoy the day. The mixed team sheets are on the board in the foyer outside the men's changing room so why not add your name to the sheet or give Lesley a ring.
The ladies' section organised a few raffles before and after Christmas and managed to raise enough money to help purchase new curtains for the dining room. Thanks to all the ladies involved.
Thanks to our President Dorothy Jones and to Chris Hardy for supplying the fantastic birdie tree which is now 'nesting' in the ladies changing room. So don't forget ladies, if you are lucky enough to have a birdie let us all know by writing your name and date on a tag and hanging it on the appropriate hole.
Thank you to Maggie Deere for accepting the responsibility for organising the Scratch Team and also for organising regular practise sessions in conjunction with Lee. These are working really well with lots of interest and also creating a sense of camaraderie. The list for all these sessions are in the ladies' changing room and filling up quickly so get your names down.
Our game against the Seniors was really enjoyable with tea and cakes being provided by them at the half way house. What gentlemen!. The result was a well earned draw.
