Senior Moments
The Seniors Centenary competition took place on the 3rd of June and was won by Bill Lennie with Dennis Rynott in second place and Colin Sholl third.
The Seniors Open was held on the 11th June and was won by Vince Howard with Keith Jones coming second.
We look forward to Vince signing up with the Seniors next year. At the moment he’s in denial that he is Senior Section material!
The Bill Patrick Trophy for the over 60’s was won by Jim Moss with Dennis Rynott in second place and Ian Champion third.
Seniors Captain’s Away Day was held at Olton Golf Club, Solihull on the 29th of June. This was a reciprocal arrangement organised by Neil Wright with the invaluable help of our Club President, Tim Fisher, and agreed by the club committee. The Olton Golf Club Seniors visited us on the 22nd of June and wrote to say what a great day they had and how excellent everything was for them.
We too had a great day when we went to Olton and found their course, food and hospitality was of the highest order. We played for two trophies, namely the Graham Peircy Trophy for first place which was won by Ian Champion with a magnificent 40 points, and the George Pearce Trophy which was won by Brian French with 37 points on countback from Dennis Green who finished third also on 37 points.
A very big thank you to John Watts, who did an excellent job of organising the day which went without a hitch.
