Welcome to the first newsletter for the ladies section &
also a warm welcome to our new ladies. I hope you are all having a great season & I know many of you are, as we have a list in the
locker room on which you are all placing your results. Don’t be shy & let us all know how well our club is doing.
Congratulations must go to Jane Lewis who has been playing brilliantly in the last few weeks & has managed
to get a huge drop in her handicap (at long last). What’s your secret Jane? Also well done to everyone else who has managed to get
their handicaps cut so far this season.
Some of our Ladies are suffering with ill health at the moment. We wish Bernie Dolan a speedy recovery from her knee operation, Betty Sheppard a swift recovery from her hip replacement operation & Irene Harper a quick resolution to her back problem. We hope to see you all up here soon & playing golf before the end of the season.
We had a good response for our AM:AM which was held in May & our sincere thanks to Sandra Morris & her team for all their hard work.
Bring a Friend to Open Day.
Our County foursomes Ladies Team lost in the 3rd round of the competition at Melton Mowbray by a very narrow margin, but well played to our ladies.
Our dress code on the golf course has been relaxed slightly but I do remind all ladies to use their discretion as to the shortness of their skirts & shorts. Tops with collars are preferred to plain round neck T-shirts, unless they are sold as actual golfing attire.
We should soon have white polo shirts with the club logo on to wear for team matches. The match team colours are:- navy trousers / shorts, white polo shirts and royal blue jumper / sweatshirt. To finish, I wish to say I hope to see you all at my Lady Captain’s Day on Saturday 26th July & on the “Away Day” to Leamington & County Golf Club on Wednesday 6th August. If you have not put your name down for our trip away please do as many ladies are looking for playing partners. We will have a great day out – thunder storms not allowed!
If you have any concerns / ideas please get in touch with me so we can all have a good golfing season.
Best wishes
Jacqui Knight
